Registration for HAM’s Fall 2008 Education Programs Underway
Registration for the fall children and adult education programs at the Hunterdon Art Museum is currently underway. The full schedule can be viewed in our brochure available at the Museum or on our website, www.hunterdonartmuseum.org. Classes are located at 7 Lower Center Street in Clinton. The Museum offers a wide variety of art classes and workshops for children ages 3 ½ to 16. New this year are “ArtVentures,” a studio class that combines art with adventure; “ARTravels,” which explores different cultures through art; and for anyone interested in creatures from ancient legends, magical fairytales, and fantastic dreams look no further than “Creature Feature.” Also available are “Glass Fusing,” “Fashion Illustration,” “Papermaking and Printmaking,” “Digital Vision,” “Studio Art,” and more. In addition, classes for preschool and kindergarten are offered daily; new this year is “Miss Lisa’s Art Pals” where learning and fun go hand-in-hand. Special morning and afternoon workshops for children are also available on November 6 and 7 during the NJEA Convention.
For the adults, HAM offers two new mini classes, “Glass Fusing” and “Intro to Printmaking.” Also new this year is “Figure Drawing and Painting.” In this intensive class, instruction in painting the full nude figure is offered as well as instruction elements of portraiture and other aspects of representing the human figure. Returning favorites are “Open Studio: Afternoon Delight,” “Painting: Pushing the Limits,” “Children’s Book Illustration” with award-winning illustrator, Lena Shiffman, and much more.

For over fifty-five years, the non-profit Hunterdon Art Museum has celebrated the achievements of New Jersey artists as well as those from outside the state with exhibitions of fine art, craft, and design. The Museum also offers art classes for all ages. Located at 7 Lower Center Street in Clinton, NJ, the Museum’s hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the Museum at 908-735-8415.
