Hunterdon County Teen Arts Festival 2008

The 2008 Teen Arts Festival will be held on May 14th and May 15th, 2008. The mission of the Hunterdon County Teen Arts Program is to identify, nurture and promote artistic excellence among Hunterdon County teenagers in middle and high school.  Any 7th-12th grade student taking private music, art, drama or dance lessons can participate in the Teen Arts even if their school district does not participate. APPLY NOW!

The teen arts program provides opportunities for teens to:  

• Share their achievements in the literary, fine and performing arts in a supportive, non-competitive environment
• Learn from and exchange ideas with professional  artists  in a variety of interactive ways including  critiquing sessions, master classes, and workshops
• Gather information about educational and career opportunities in the arts
• Gain acceptance and appreciation of personal, artistic and cultural diversity as expressed through the arts

Hunterdon County teen arts also provides:

• Workshops in Theatre, Visual Arts, Dance, Instrumental &Vocal Music, Film/Video and Creative Writing that meet the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards
• An opportunity for students to meet with  representatives from colleges and universities that offer  fine arts majors
• An opportunity for students to learn about community arts organizations with whom they may wish to perform  or seek continuing education opportunities
• An opportunity for students to attend professional theatrical performances in Hunterdon County with their families
