Are You Raising a Relative’s child and need Assistance Paying for Child Care? Help may be available through NORWESCAP Child & Family Resource Services. There are so many people that have taken on the responsibility of raising a relative’s child. This is called Kinship care. There are services available, through the Kinship Navigator Program, to help with child care assistance and/or wrap around services such as furniture, moving costs, housing, legal fees, and respite care. The Navigator Program can provide information and referral services for a wide range of needs including: family support groups, Work First New Jersey/Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, Medicaid coverage and services, child support, custody procedure, and education issues.

If you are raising a relative’s child in your home, you may qualify for assistance paying for child care and other services. Eligibility depends on the caregiver’s age, family size and income and be blood relatives. If you think that you fall within these guidelines for child care assistance call NORWESCAP-CFRS in the county you reside. For all other services call Kinship Navigator at 877-816-3211.
