ArtSkills Introduces the Poster Wizard. Parents, students, group leaders and fans, rejoice! You will have to find something else to do with your Sunday night because you (and your favorite procrastinator) will not be struggling with last minute poster projects anymore. ArtSkills, the leading manufacturer of poster board accessories, today announced the launch of its new and improved online Poster Wizard, designed to save you time and frustration by helping you make easier, faster and better posters.
ArtSkills, a company with a history in innovative art programs, recognized the common complaints about poster making — “it’s hard to come up with a creative idea;” “it’s so difficult to know how to lay things out on this big sheet of paper;” and most of all, “I can’t even keep my letters straight.” They decided to tackle this traditional but dated craft, which had no prior innovation for over 50 years.
The Poster Wizard, available for free on their website, guides users through the entire poster process, from creative titles to poster templates, inserting photos, captions and text boxes to adding eye catching borders and shapes. If you are stuck for ideas, ArtSkills also has a Poster Gallery with sample posters in every category. At the end of the process, users can print their poster in sheets that can be applied to a poster board or they can take the high-resolution file to any local printer to be printed poster size. Either option allows consumers to do something they were never able to do before — digitally design and print their poster masterpieces. For educational posters and others that will be made by hand, the Poster Wizard provides users with a scaled image of their finished poster and a list of materials.
“None of us were taught how to make a poster in school,” says Michele Demsky, a mom of three and owner of ArtSkills. “Poster projects are often assigned with no instruction in the craft of poster making, leaving students and their parents at a loss as to where to begin. When making posters for social situations — like PTO bake sales, troop fundraisers or football games — parents and cheerleaders often have to make dozens of posters at once. In addition to the Poster Wizard, the company has also created “The Poster Idea Gallery” application for iPhone and iPod Touch devices, which allows users to browse the ArtSkills Poster Idea Gallery for hundreds of sample posters on the go. Once they find a poster that inspires them, the application provides the user with a materials list and instructions. It then directs the user to the closest store carrying the supplies needed to create the chosen poster.
