Kidtopia also has a shaded canopy area. In addition, Alexandria Township has recently planted some shade trees around the playground, so shade is comming! There are port-a-pottys at the park. Alexandria Park also has a walking path that goes around most of the park. It is great path for a stroller and kids as you don't have to worry about cars.

There's a "Grieving & Growing Through Loss" no-fee bereavement support group for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, that meets twice a month in High Bridge. There's a "Compassionate Friends" support group that meets monthly in Flemington for parents grieving the loss of a child of any age. For details on other bereavement groups, or help in joining with others, to start a needed new one, call the non-profit NJ Self-Help Group Clearinghouse at 1-800-367-6274, more easily remembered as 1-800-FOR-M.A.S.H. (Mutual Aid Self-Help).

"My years as a medical practitioner, as well as my own first-hand experience, have taught me how important self-help groups are in assisting their members in dealing with problems, stress, hardship and pain... the benefits of mutual aid are experienced by millions of people who turn to others with a similar problem to attempt to deal with their isolation, powerlessness, alienation, and the awful feeling that nobody understands."
- former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, MD, who also served as a member of Compassionate Friends, an international self-help group for bereaved parents, following the sudden death of his own college age son (note that there are 10 local Compassionate Friends support groups available in different areas of NJ - call the Clearinghouse for information on them or any of the over 4,500 other support groups meeting in NJ).

Smilebox really is a great service- It provided about half of my gifts for others this past Christmas! Great scrap booking! I just wish it had better sharing features. Some of my family is spread all over the place; I like to keep them up to date on my kids’ activities. I take lots of photos and I find it easier to share them online than to e-mail individual photos etc. Pixamo is great for that. I use it to complement Smilebox. Super secure online photo sharing that I only allow my family into. I love the digital world!

West Portal Pumpkin Patch is great. It has a "hay" structure for kids to climb on, they do pumpkin picking with a hay ride or you could just buy a pumpkin, no picking necessary and they have animals for the kids to see-goats, chickens etc. good for all ages.
