Happy Accidents

Well we set off to find the perfect pumpkins this past weekend as it finally felt a little more like fall. We headed off into Warren County to the place we stumbled upon last year for a return visit. I can’t for the life of me even remember the name of the farm, but it was a great place with some animals, a big corn maze and a modest pumpkin patch. They had cider and hayrides - but most of all a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, as we arrived at the driveway we saw that the busy thriving farm we went to last year was closed up shut, not a soul to be seen. At that point, with the dog in the car and two kids who were ready to get some pumpkins we had to go to plan B. [Read more →]

Rock the World Cafe
This is a new feature we are starting called “Out & About” and it will highlight some places that our staff visits in Hunterdon County. Always unannounced, and on a whim. If you’d like to invite us to your establishment just click here to let us know.
The first installment is our visit this past week to “Rock the World Cafe” at 43 Main Street in Clinton.
Now it had been a while since we’ve been to downtown Clinton, and boy were we surprised to see how much had changed. So many new shops and not enough time. We were intrigued however, by the sign out front of the Rock the World Cafe, which highlighted their menu of “Rock Star Smoothies” all appointed the names of famous rock stars. It totally lured us in.
My youngest begged for a “Michael Jackson” (Half chocolate, Half Vanilla ice cream), and gosh it seemed so wrong. On principal, I shouldn’t be letting my little one have a Michael Jackson smoothie should I??? But alas - I caved because darn it - Thriller was one of my favorite albums along with Off the Wall and I choose to remember the good and not the bad. And even though it was before lunch time, I purchased that smoothie because I knew it was our last hoorah before school started. Needless to say it got rave reviews. I even wound up getting an iced Mocha Latte for myself which was devine. I was totally intrigued by their Panini Menu and made a mental note to come back when we had more time and an appetite!
The place itself is so intriguing because there are three separate stores in the same building covering three floors – Mary’s, Addicted Jeans & Rock the World Cafe. It’s a totally unique concept, you can shop and eat and stay a good long while!
It’s definitely worth a visit - so tell them you saw them here if you do!
