Registration for HAM’s Fall 2008 Education Programs Underway

Registration for the fall children and adult education programs at the Hunterdon Art Museum is currently underway. The full schedule can be viewed in our brochure available at the Museum or on our website, www.hunterdonartmuseum.org. Classes are located at 7 Lower Center Street in Clinton. The Museum offers a wide variety of art classes and workshops for children ages 3 ½ to 16. New this year are “ArtVentures,” a studio class that combines art with adventure; “ARTravels,” which explores different cultures through art; and for anyone interested in creatures from ancient legends, magical fairytales, and fantastic dreams look no further than “Creature Feature.” Also available are “Glass Fusing,” “Fashion Illustration,” “Papermaking and Printmaking,” “Digital Vision,” “Studio Art,” and more. In addition, classes for preschool and kindergarten are offered daily; new this year is “Miss Lisa’s Art Pals” where learning and fun go hand-in-hand. Special morning and afternoon workshops for children are also available on November 6 and 7 during the NJEA Convention.

Green Buildings Open House

On Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association is welcoming the public to visit local sustainable homes and buildings throughout New Jersey and the Northeast to see clean renewable energy at work. Visitors to these buildings will be able to see how their neighbors and businesses are reducing their carbon footprint and cutting their energy bills through the power of the sun, wind, and smart building design. Haunted Hallways at Del Val

Delaware Valley Municipal Alliance will be sponsoring a family friendly Haunted Hallways at the Del Val High School on October 25th from Noon to 4pm.  Bring the family Trick or Treating down the Haunted Hallways. Lots of treats, games, prizes, fun, and monsters.  Kids can walk through the haunted hallways and then play boardwalk style games and have treats in the cafeteria.  Delaware Valley Regional High School, 19 Senator Stout Road, Frenchtown, NJ.   The cost is $5 per child, supervising adults are free.  All money raised is used for drug and alchol prevention programming.  More info contact:  Ogden Kruger 908-996-2132 (ext. 2612) or email Mary Hanley at mhanley@hdap.org

Community Appreciation Day

Peaceful Valley Orchards will be holding a community appreciation day on October 11th, 2008. We are inviting local businesses and organizations to set up tables and discuss with the public what their group does. Our fall festivals are attended by 2,000 to 5,000 people. There is no registration fee for non-profit organizations.  Vendors will need to bring their own tables, chairs, etc.  For more information call us at 908-730-7748. Pumpkin Picking Tours

Peaceful Valley Orchards will be holding pumpkin picking tours from September 15th to October 31st. Tours include a hayride, the chance to pick a pumpkin, and a coloring book. The price is $6.75 per child, with 2 free chaperones per 13 children. Additional chaperones, parents, and siblings will be charged the per person rate of $6.75. Tricky Tray To Support The Giving Network

A Tricky Tray is being held to support the Giving Network, a local charity that provides basic household items to the neediest members of our community.  October 25, 2008 at the Manville VFW, 600 Washington Ave (off Main St), Manville, NJ  08835.   Doors open at 6:30 PM.  Drawing begins at 7:45 PM.  Admission $10 at the door.
