There will be a bone marrow drive for Brett Melworm, who was diagnosed on August 25th with acute myelogenous leukemia,  one of the most aggressive and lethal types of this disease.  Brett and his family, wife Stephanie and children Lily, 4 and Rebecca, 2 are known by many members of our community.
 
The event will take place at the Flemington Jewish Community Center (FJCC), along with a blood drive in his honor, and a flu clinic on Sunday, November 16th from 9:00-1:00.      
 
We are appealing to as many families as possible to register to be a bone marrow donor and spread the word.  It requires a simple cheek swab that will be obtained that day (Ages 18-60).  There will be no cost involved.   Donations are welcome by individuals and organizations to cover processing fees.  Knowledgeable people will be on hand to answer questions you may have.  Together, as a community, we can help this family.

Acorn Montessori School will host a parent education program, Boys and Girls Learn Differently.  In the last five years, brain researchers using sophisticated MRI and PET technology gathered new information abou the ways male and female brains develop.  Acorn would like to invite parents, teachers and members of the community to the schools Clinton Township campus on Wednesday, November 5th at 7:00pm.
