August 13 - 15, 2008.  North Branch Park, Milltown Road, Bridgewater, NJ.  Since 1948 thousands of visitors have enjoyed the Somerset County 4-H Fair. There are no admission or parking fees, no midway or carnival rides. NORWESCAP Child & Family Resource Services is offering a training, Summer Activities for School Age Children on Tuesday, July 22, 2008.   Brenda O’Shea, Program Coordinator with NORWESCAP CFRS, will share ideas to blast away summer boredom.  This training is designed for family child care providers, licensed child care center staff, and school age child care programs. The two hour training will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the NORWESCAP CFRS office on 63 Main Street in Flemington .  There is a minimal registration fee of five dollars.  Interested individuals may contact NORWESCAP CFRS at 908-782-8183 to register for this training.

July 25 - 27: The largest summertime hot air balloon festival in North America with up to 125 hot air balloons, nonstop family entertainment, crafters and vendors. The Gin Blossoms perform on Friday; Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers hits the stage on Saturday; Sunday concerts include Menudo and Kenny Loggins. Don’t miss the morning and evening balloon rides. Special balloons this year include Darth Vader, the PNC Bank American Flag and the Energizer Bunny. The Fireworks Extravaganza is set for July 25 at 9:30 p.m. The Balloon Glow will be on July 26 at 8 p.m. General admission tickets include admission into the festival and lawn seating for all shows. Disney’s Demi Lovato, who is starring with the Jonas Brothers in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock” premiering June 20, will perform live in concert at the 26th annual Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning at Solberg Airport in Readington on Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. in association with AM 1560 Radio Disney.
